Question 1181345: The prince of a far off land was passing through and noticed your fort. He was so impressed by its design that he wanted to build larger scale version of it to be his new castle back home. If the simplified ratio of the volume of your fort to the volume of his castle is 1:27, what will be the surface area of the prince’s castle?
My fort's S.A=5680ft^2
My fort's Volume=18,728.94ft^3
I tried sending this in last time but one of the tutors called it gibberish. If this question does not make sense I apologize in advance.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the ratio of similarity (ratio of measurements of any corresponding lengths) in two similar figure is 1:n, then the ratio of corresponding area measurements is 1:n^2, and the ratio of corresponding volume measurements is 1:n^3.
Given that the ratio of volumes in this problem is 1:27, the ratio of similarity is 1:3, and the ratio of corresponding area measurements is 1:9.
ANSWER: The S.A. of the prince's fort will be 9*5680=51120 ft^2.

comment from student : If you were talking about the first question I sent, then I do agree that it was wordy.
However the reason why I had so many words was because there was more to the problem than just the question.
I hope you will allow me to continue to ask for help.
My response.
Part 1. I am very glad that after my reaction, you were able to re-formulate your problem in a rational way.
Part 2. I am very glad to see any reasonable problem at this forum.
I react with indignation only if I see nonsensical posts.
