.

Let x be the distance under the question.

It means that he just traveled x miles and 125-x miles left to travel.

From the condition, you have this proportion

    x%2F%28125-x%29 = 2%2F3.

From the proportion

    3x = 2*(125-x),

    3x = 250 - 2x

    3x + 2x = 250

    5x      = 250

     x      = 250/5 = 50.

ANSWER. The distance Herman have traveled when he stops for lunch is 50 miles.
