If the "negative difference" is -45 degrees, then the "positive difference" is +45 degrees.


So we can write


    x + y = 180

    x - y =  45


Add the equations to get  2x = 225,  x = 225%2F2 = 112.5 degrees.


ANSWER.  The larger angle is of 112.5 degrees.
