Ellipse has NO major and minor segments.


It is WRONG terminology.


Ellipse has major and minor axes, as well as semi-major and semi-minor axes, instead.


        If the semi-major and semi-minor axes are  a= 60 cm  and  b= 45 cm,

        then the area of the ellipse is Area = pi%2Aa%2Ab = 3.14*60*45 cm^2.
