When 4 cm was taken from the length and added to the breadth, the perimeter did not changed, correct ?

Hence, the square has THE SAME PERIMETER as the rectangle, i.e. 84 cm.

It means that each side of the square is 84%2F4 = 21 cm.

The the length of the original rectangle was 21+4 = 25 cm, while the breadth of the original rectangle was 21-4 = 17 cm.

Answer. The dimensions of the original rectangle were 25 cm (length) and 17 cm (breadth).

Check. 25 + 17 + 25 + 17 = 2*25 + 2*17 = 50 + 34 = 84 cm. ?Correct !
