Question 1084977: Hi! Can you please help me to answer this question?
The other day I was helping a calculus student with a homework assignment. One of the questions she was working on gave the coordinates of three vertices of a triangle. The coordinates were (0, 0), (4, 3) and (2, 8). From this information, the student was supposed to be able to find the area of the triangle.
Solve this problem using two different area formulas.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can use the points themselves,

.
.
.
You can use the distance formula to find the lengths of the sides of the triangle (a,b,c) and then use Heron's formula,
A=sqrt%28s%28s-a%29%28s-b%29%28s-c%29%29
where
s=%28a%2Bb%2Bc%29%2F2
