You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Gerald is Designing a garden in the shape of a regular hexagon with each side measuring 4 m long. The gardener will be divided into six equal lateral triangle with a different type of flower planting in each triangle what is the approximate total area of the garden
=========
Sketch one of the 6 triangles:
Sketch its height to form 2 right triangles on the he base
Find the area of one of those two right triangles::
base = 3 m
hypotenuse = 4 because of the equilateral triangles
height = sqrt(4^2-3^2) = sqrt(7)
-----
Area of that small triangle is (1/2)*3*sqrt(7)
There are 12 of those small triangles::
Ans: Total area = 12[(1/2)*3*sqrt(7)] = 18sqrt(7) sq meters
