Question 841124: a person bought 4 adult tickets and 2 children tickets and spent $80.00. How much did the tickets cost for adult and children? Please show your work while working towards your solution.
My equation is 4a + 2c = $80.00... then I solve for each one.
4a + 2c = $80.00 so…. Need to get s by itself so subtract 2c
4a = $80.00 – 2c… then divide by 4
a = $80.00/4 – 2c/4… then simplify
a = $20.00 – 1/2c
2c = $80.00 – 4a
C = $80.00/2 – 4a/2
C = $40.00 -2a
