I'm not entirely sure what your question is asking, actually. I'll take a shot, though.
The article cost N400.
Woman = 10%
Man = 40%
Altogether, they have 10% + 40% = 50%
50% of N400 = 50⁄100 * N400
= N200
Therefore, they had N200.
