Question 822524: Large pizzas cost $12.50 and the small pizzas cost $9.00. Liam ordered 4 more large pizzas than small pizzas and the bill came to $415.50. How many of each type of pizza did Liam order? ( but it's for. Grade nine math and so it needs let statements and can only have 1 variable)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Done already, and you need TWO variables, not just one variable. You have TWO unknown quantities. The count of each pizza is unknown and there are two kinds of pizzas in your exercise.

Note there that one equation accounts for the count of pizzas and the other equation accounts for cost.
