You can put this solution on YOUR website! For a recent job, a plumber earned $28/h, and the plumbers apprentice earned $15/h. The plumber worked 3 hours more than the apprentice. If together they were paid $213 , how much did each earn? ------------------------
 Plumber DATA:
 rate = 28/h ; time = x+3 hrs ; Pay = r*t = 28(x+3) 28x + 84
 ------
 Apprentise DATA:
 rate = 15/h ; time = x hrs ; Pay = r*t = 15x
 0000000
 Equation:
 28x + 84 + 15x = 213
 43x = 129
 =======================
 x = 3
 ---------------
 Plumber pay = 28x+84 = 28*3+84 = 84+84 = 168
 Apprentise pay = 15x = 15*3 = 45
 =====================
 Cheers,
 Stan H.
