Question 759841: The Book Nook makes four times as much revenue on paperback books as on hardcover books. If last month's sales totaled $124,300. how much was sold of each type of book? I get that we wil multiply I try to put this together as Let 4X = Nook
Let X = paperback
Let H = hardcover
so I get to here with X + 4(4x - H) = 124,300.00 I can't figure how to find the hardcover or get it in the equation correctly.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
p for revenue on a paperback
h for revenue on a hardcover

p=4h_______Revenue on a paperback is four times the revenue of a hardcover book.

If you assign:
x= how many paperbacks were sold
y = how many hardcovered were sold

Then the best you can do is make an equation for the months revenue:
x%2Ap%2By%2Ah=124300
x%2A4%2Ah%2By%2Ah=124300
or
4hx%2Bhy=124300
You do not have enough information in your description to carry this any further.
