Then the rate of the jet is 5x mph

time for the jet = 1350/5x = 270/x hrs
time for the helicopter = 135/x hrs

Equation:
time + time = 4.5 hrs
(270/x) + (135/x) = 4.5
-----
(270+135)/x = 4.5
x = 405/4.5
x = 90 mph (speed of the helicopter)
5x = 450 mph (speed of the jet)
