You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let +a+ = the cost of an adult ticket
Let +c+ = the cost of a child's ticket
given:
(1) +a+%2B+4c+=+135+
(2) +2a+%2B+6c+=+220+
--------------------
Divide both sides of (2) by +2+
(2) +a+%2B+3c+=+110+
Subtract (2) from (1)
(1) +a+%2B+4c+=+135+
(2) +-a+-+3c+=+-110+
+c+=+25+
plug this result back into either (1) or (2)
(2) +a+%2B+3%2A25+=+110+
(2) +a+%2B+75+=+110+
(2) +a+=+35+
An adult ticket is $35 and a child's ticket is $25
check:
(1) +a+%2B+4c+=+135+
(1) +35+%2B+4%2A25+=+135+
(1) +35+%2B+100+=+135+
(1) +135+=+135+
OK
