You can put this solution on YOUR website! You can use proportions for this problem. Let $x = the amount that Ed receives, then Dave will get $(14,000-x)
Cross-multiply. Add 2x to both sides. Divide both sides by 7.
So, Ed receives $4,000.00 while Dave will get ($14,000.00 - $4,000.00) $10,000.00
