You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4000/(2*300+2*400)=x/(2*200+2*600)
4000/(600+800)=x/(400+1200)
4000/1400=x/1600
1400x=1600*4000
1400x=6,400,000
x=6,400,000/1,400
x=$4,571.43 is the cost of the new sidewald.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the perimeter of the first field
P=2%28l%29ength%2B2%28w%29idth
P=2%28300yds%29%2B2%28600yds%29
P=600yds%2B1200yds
P=1800yds
.
and then divide the total cost by the perimeter to find the cost/yard of construction.
%244000%2F1800yds=%2420%2F9yds
.
Next find the perimeter of the second field
P=2%28200yds%29%2B2%28600yds%29
P=400yds%2B1200yds
P=1600yds
Plug the perimeter into the formula cost=perimeter*(cost/yard).
cost=%281600yds%29%2A%28%2420%29%2F%289yds%29
.
cost=$3555.56
.
