Hello,  as I tried to explain you softly, wording in your post is gibberish.

But after addition made by @josgarithmetic,  it is just  OVERFLOW  of gibberish.

What is written in the post by @josgarithmetic - - - is  NONSENSE.

            You better cover your eyes with duct tape in order for do not see

After my notice, @gosgarithmetic changed his post and re-wrote it,
but it did not make it better.

If you are newcomer at this forum,  you should know that @josgarithmetic's
major contribution to this forum is writing incorrect solutions
practically every day  (that are then a subject of correction by other tutors).

If you are not a newcomer and are with the forum at least several months,
you know this truth even without my explanations . . .

So be very careful with his posts . . . the probability is from  50%  to  90%
that they are wrong.

p, amount invested 4 years ago
4%2A0.0675%2Ap, amount of interest earned

4%2A0.0675%2Ap=3780, all the interest withdrawn

p=3780%2F%284%2A0.0675%29
p=14000

Balance remaining, 14000-3780=highlight%2810220%29

Sounds like this should be: Four years ago After after opening an account that paid simple interest of 6.75% annually,
a depositor withdrew $3,780 in interest earned. How much money was left in this account

Invested amount/Principal or
If after 4 years, earned interest of $3,780 was withdrawn. It's quite OBVIOUS what would be left in the account!
Think aboout it!

**BTW: He's WRONG! It's NOT $10,220.
Then again, most times he is. You should think about this, and APPLY sheer common sense to determine the TRUE remaining account balance!
