300 people each paying ₵5 would bring in a total of ₵1500.
300 people each paying ₵6 would bring in a total of ₵1800.
The actual total was ₵1580.
Observe on a number line that ₵1580 is 80/300 of the way from ₵1500 to ₵1800.
That means 80/300 of the tickets were the more expensive ₵6 tickets. With a total of 300 tickets sold, that means 80 of them were the ₵6 tickets.
ANSWER: 80 ₵6 tickets; 300-80 = 220 ₵5 tickets.
CHECK: 80(₵6)+220(₵5) = ₵480+₵1100 = ₵1580.
