You can put this solution on YOUR website! If she has 28,000 and invests an unknown amount I will call x at 11%, then she has 28,000-x to invest at 5% :
 0.11x+0.05(28,000-x) = 2,270
 0.11x+1400-0.05x = 2,270
 0.06x = 870
 x = 14,500 is invested at 11% and
 28,000-14,500 = 13,500 is invested at 5%

 John
