You can put this solution on YOUR website! You spend one third of your money on lunch. Your friend then pays back a loan of $2.50. Later, you spend $4 on a movie ticket and $1.25 for a snack. You have $5.25 left. How much money did you have before lunch?" ----
 After lunch::
 x - (1/3)x = (2/3)x
 ---
 After payback, movie, and snack
 (2/3)x+2.5-4-1.25 = (2/3)x -2.75
 -----
 Equation:
 (2/3)x - 2.75 = 5.25
 (2/3)x = 8
 x = $12
