How many days of use will it take for the cost of the bulbs to be equal and what is the equivalent cost?

Question 130652: You have Two pieces of ropes of equal lenths. The first piece is 3 times the length of a piece of wood minus 2 inches the second piece is 3 times the lengh of the same piece of wood plus 15 inches. solve equation and graph. I understand 3x-2 and 3x+15 x is the variable for the wood. But I'm not sure how to put it in the correct equation. Would it just be 3x-2=3x+15. Once I get the equation I can solve it but I am not sure how to graph it.
