Question 411776: I need to solve the problem using 3.14 as an approximation for pie where appropriate. The Great Pyramid of Giza was built around the year 2560BC. It was originally 481 feet high with a square base measuring 751 feet on each side. Its slant height was 611 ft. Find the volume of the Great Pyramid. Round the answer to a four significant digits.
I see the V= (751 x 751) x 481 and them divide the answer by 3 but I guess I am not understanding where 3.14 comes in.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! There is no pi. Your answer is correct (be sure to put the decimal number to four significant digits).
You can put this solution on YOUR website! In general they write if you need the value of pie you may use 3 instead of 3.14
For a sq base you do not need to use pi.
original height is 481
slant height is 611 alot of deviation
