Of all the coins in Kelly’s piggy bank, 30% are pennies, 15% are nickels,
25% are dimes, and the rest are quarters. If the total value of all the quarters is $60,
what is the total value of all the coins in Kelly’s piggy bank?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The number of quarters is  60.00%2F0.25 = 240.
Notice that quarters are 100% - 30% - 15% - 25% = 30% = 0.3 of the number of all coins in the bank.
The number of pennies is the same 30% of coins - - - it means that the number of pennies is 240 coins.
Next,  the number of nickels is 15% of coins, i.e. half of 240 coins, which is 120 coins.
Finally, the number of dimes is 25% of coins, or  5%2F6 of the number of pennies, i.e. %285%2F6%29%2A240 = 200 coins.
Now we are in position to calculate the total amount, which is
    1*240 + 5*120 + 10*200 + 6000 = 8840 pennies = $88.40.     ANSWER
The solution from the other tutor contains errors, which I know she will fix....
The value of the quarters is $60; at 4 quarters per dollar, the number of quarters is 60*4 = 240.
The percentage of coins that are quarters is 100%-30%-15%-25% = 30%.
That tells us that the number of pennies is the same as the number of quarters (30% of the total), and the number of nickels is half of that (15% of the total). So there are 240 pennies and 120 nickels.
There are many ways to find the number of dimes; I personally would see that 25% is 5/6 of 30%, so the number of dimes is 5/6 of 240, which is 200.
So there are
240 pennies
120 nickels
200 dimes
240 quarters
for a total value of $2.40+$6.00+$20.00+$60.00 = $88.40
