You can put this solution on YOUR website!

let Jon's age be J and Alice’s age be A
if Jon is 4 years older than twice the age of Alice, we have

J=2A%2B4........eq.1

if the sum of the spas in 25 years, we have
J%2BA=25...eq.2

substitute J from eq.1 in eq.2

2A%2B4%2BA=25...eq.2, solve for A
3A=25-4
3A=21
A=7

go to eq.1, substitute A

J=2%2A7%2B4........eq.1
J=18

so, Jon is 18 years old and Alice is 7 years old

Jon, 4%2B2x
Alice, x

AGE SUM, 4%2B2x%2Bx=25---------------x=7, Alice

18, Jon
