You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Let  x  be the unknown odd number.
Then the next even number is  x+1,  and we have the equality

4x = 3(x+1) - 14,

according to the condition.  Solve this equation:

4x = 3x + 3 - 14,
x = -11.

Answer.  x = -11.
