You can put this solution on YOUR website! If sandy is nine times older than Eric and in 10 years the sum of their ages will be 50, how old is Eric now?
---------------
9 times older = 10 times as old.
---
S = 10E
S+10 + (E+10) = 50
10E+10 + E+10 = 50
11E = 30
Eric is 30/11 years
Sandy is 300/11 years
==========================
It's not an integer solution because 9 times older is not 9 times as old.
1 time older is not the same age, it's 2x as old.
etc.
9 times older --> a 900% increase in age --> 10 times as old.
