Remember one important detail from the description: r=2v.

I am really confused by this question:
Rocco is twice as old as Vinnie.
In 5 years, Rocco will be 2 less than twice Vinnie's age.
Find their present ages.

Equations::
r = 2v
r+5 = 2(v+5)-2
--------
Substitute for "r" and solve for "v"::
2v+5 = 2v+10-2
5 = 8
-----
Ans: No solution.
The conditions are contradictory.
