let x be the current age of amber
Cameron is fourteen years younger than amber
Cameron's age is x-14
Cameron's age two years ago is x-14-2
amber's current age is three times what cameron's age two years ago
x= 3*(x-14-2)
x =3*(x-16)
x=3*x-3*16
x= 3x-48
move -48 to the left
48+x= 3x
move x to the right
48 =3x-x
48 =2x
divide with 2 on both sides

so amber's current age is 24 years
cameron's age = 24-14 = 10 years
result : cameron's age = 10 years

Let Cameron's current age be C
Then Amber's current age is: 3(C - 2), or 3C - 6
Also, Amber's current age is: C + 14
Thus, we can say that: 3C - 6 = C + 14
3C - C = 14 + 6
2C = 20
