SOLUTION: in 12 year man will be 3 times old as son.the difference of their agesbe 30 year.find there present ages?

Let x and y represent  Dad's and Son's ages   

Question States***

x + 12 = 3(y+12), x = 

  x - y = 30          |Substitute for x

 (3y+24) - y = 30

    2y = 6

     y = 3, age of son.  Dad is 33  

CHECKING our answer***in 12 years...

  45 = 3•15
