You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Kelly is x years old. Mike is 2 years older than twice Kelly's age. The sum of Kelly's and Mike's age is 26. How old are Kelly and Mike?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kelly= x
Mike= 2x+2
x+2x+2=26
3x+2=26
3x=24
x=8 <--- This is Kelly's age
To find Mikes age, you plug it in to the expression above.
2(8)+2
=16
So Kelly is 8 and Mike is 16.
Hope this helped!
