5x-5=4y-4

6(x+1)=5(y+1)
6x+6=5y+5
6x-5y=-1..............(2)
x= Varun's present age
y= Veena's present age
5 x -4 y = 1 .............1
Total value
6 x -5 y = -1 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 5
Multiply (2) by -4
25 x -20 y = 5
-24 x + 20 y = 4
Add the two equations
1 x = 9
/ 1
x = 9
plug value of x in (1)
5 x -4 y = 1
45 -4 y = 1
-4 y = 1 -45
-4 y = -44
