If he buys 46 items altogether, how many of each does he get?

Question states***

# of bearings + # of decks + # of wheels = 46

    4x + x + (3x-2) = 46

           8x = 48

            x = 6, number of decks 

 6 decks, 24 bearings and 16 wheels
