glen is 3 yrs older than his brother

Let x represent brother's age and Glen's (x+3)

Question states***

 x + 4 + (x+3+4) = 33 ****

Solving for x

  2x = 22

   x = 11 brothers age now.  Glen is now 14.  (2years ago they were: 9 & 12)

CHECKING our Answer***

  15 + 18 = 33
