You can put this solution on YOUR website!

One – fifth of a certain lawyer’s age 8 years ago equals one – ninth of his age 24 years hence. How old is he now?
How can I solve for this?

Let his current age be C
Then we can say that: %281%2F5%29%28C+-+8%29+=+%281%2F9%29%28C+%2B+24%29, with hence meaning from now
%28C+-+8%29%2F5+=+%28C+%2B+24%29%2F9
9%28C+-+8%29+=+5%28C+%2B+24%29 ----- Cross-multiplying

9C - 72 = 5C + 120

9C - 5C = 120 + 72

4C = 192

C, or his current age = 192%2F4, or highlight_green%2848%29

You should be able to do the check!!
