You can put this solution on YOUR website! Three mothers- Malu,Eva and Josie- have between them a total of 14 children, 10 of whom are girls. Eva has no more children than Malu, who has 3 children. Josie has 6 more-girls than boys and the same number of boys as Malu has girls. How many girls each do Josie and Malu have?
Have you done anything so far to try to solve this problem? If not, you need to try doing something, unless you have no clue how to even begin.
I interpreted "Eva has no more children than Malu" to mean that Eva and Malu each has the same amount of children
Since Eva and Malu have the same amount of children, then they have a total of 6
Since there are 14 children, and since Eva and Malu each has 3, then Josie has 8 children
Let amount of boys that Josie has be B
Since Josie has 8 children, and 6 more girls than boys, then Josie has:
B + B + 6 = 8
2B = 2
B = 1
Josie: 7 girls, 1 boy
Since Josie has the same amount of boys as Malu has girls, then Malu has 1 girl
Therefore, Josie has girls and Malu has girl.
