You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let +m+ = Mother's age now
Let +d+ = Daughter's age now
+m+%2B+7+ = Mother's age in 7 years
+d+%2B+7+ = Daughter's age in 7 years
given:
(1) +m+=+d+%2B+20+
(2) +m+%2B+7+=+3%2A%28+d+%2B+7+%29+
-----------------------
(2) +m+%2B+7+=+3d+%2B+21+
(2) +m+-+3d+=+14+
and
(1) +m+-+d+=+20+
Subtract (2) from (1)
(1) +m+-+d+=+20+
(2) +-m+%2B+3d+=+-14+
+2d+=+6+
+d+=+3+
and, since
(1) +m+=+d+%2B+20+
(1) +m+=+3+%2B+20+
(1) +m+=+23+
The Mother is 23 and the Daughter is 3
check:
(2) +m+%2B+7+=+3%2A%28+d+%2B+7+%29+
(2) +23+%2B+7+=+3%2A%28+3+%2B+7+%29+
(2) +30+=+30+
OK

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
daughter =x
mother = x+20
in 7 years
daughter = x+7
mother = (x+20) + 7= x+27
x+27 = 2(x+7)
x+27=2x+14
2x-x=27-14
x=13 -- daughter's age
mother's age 13+20 = 33 years
