You can put this solution on YOUR website! My age is now four times yours, but five years ago it was five times yours. how old was the man?
---
Equations:
m = 4y
(m-5) = 5(y-5)
----
Substitute the solve for "y":
4y-5 = 5y-25
y = 20 yrs old (your age now)
----
Solve for "m"::
m = 4y
m = 4*20 = 80 yrs old (my age now)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! M=my age
Y=your age
My age is now four times yours:

But five years ago it was five times yours:

Plug in 4Y for M:

Simplify both sides

So "your age" is 20. "My age" is 80.
If you check it, that works. Five years ago "you" would have been 15 and "my age" would have been 75. 15*5=75
