Given:
Let A = A's age now
Let B = B's age now
Then B-2 = B's age 2 years ago
given:
(1) A+=+2%2A%28B+-+2%29
(2) A+-+B+=+6
----------------
from (1):
(1) A+=+2B+-+4
(1) A+-+2B+=+-4
(1) -A+%2B+2B+=+4
Now add (1) and (2)
(1) -A+%2B+2B+=+4
(2) A+-+B+=+6
B+=10
And, from (2),
(2) A+-+B+=+6
(2) A+-+10+=+6
(2) A+=+16
A is 16 now
check answer:
(1) A+=+2%2A%28B+-+2%29
(1) 16+=+2%2A%2810+-+2%29
(1) 16+=+2%2A8
16+=+16
