Jack is 4 years older than Jill

Let x and (x + 4) represent Jill's and Jack's ages NOW  respectively

Question states*** in 7 years...

  (x + 7) + (x + 4 + 7) = 72

Solving for x

       2x = 54

       x =  27, Jill's age NOW.    



CHECKING our Answer*** Jack's age NOW is 31.  (27+4)

   34 +  38 = 72
