1] The sum of the ages of Doris & Fred is 5 years.If Doris is 12 years older than fred,how many years old will Fred be y years from now,in terms of y?

Your problem makes no sense because even if Fred was
a 1 year old baby boy, Doris would be 12 years older
or 13, and the sum of their ages would be 14, which
is a lot more than 5. So there can be no solution.
I think you made a typo. Please repost.
