You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Perimeter of a Rectangle = 2*Length + 2*Width
You are told Length+=+%282%2AWidth%29+-+3
So
Perimeter+of+a+Rectangle+=+2%2ALength+%2B+2%2AWidth
36+=+%282%2A%282%2AWidth%29+-+3%29+%2B+2%2AWidth
36+=+4%2AWidth+-+6+%2B+2%2AWidth
42+=+6%2AWidth
7+=+Width
If the Width = 7 cm, then the Length = (2*7)-3 = 14-3 = 11.
Check your answer
Does 11+7+11+7 = 36???
