a+8=4/3(a-6)multiply terms by 3
:
3a+24=4a-24
:

x+8=(4x-24)/3
3(x+8)=4x-24
3x+24=4x-24
3x-4x=-24-24
-x=-48
x=48 years old now.

48+8=4/3(48-6)
