You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Bernie is the oldest of the four Bryant brothers. Bobby is twice as old as Billy, but 2 years younger then Bernie. Bernie is twice as old as Buddy. The youngest Bryant brother is 6 years old. What are the ages of the four Bryant brothers?
:
From the given statements, here's what I think is the Oldest to youngest:
Let a = Bernie's age
Let b = Bobby's age
Let c = Buddy's age
Let d = Billy who is 6
:
Bobby is twice as old as Billy (who is 6)
b = 2(6) = 12 is Bobby's age
:
but 2 yrs younger than Bernie
a = 12 + 2 = 14 is Bernie's age
:
Bernie is twice as old as Buddy
a = 2c
Bernie is 14, therefore:
c = 7 is Buddy's age
;
My answer:
Bernie is 14
Bobby is 12
Buddy is 7
Billy is 6
