Lily is 34 years old. Bella is 23 years older than Lily.
Bella is 34+23 = 57 years old.

Steve is 51 years younger than Bella
Steve 57-51 = 6 years old

Steve is 3 years younger than Hayley, so Hayley is 3 years older than Steve.
Hayley is 6+3 = 9


Answer: 9 years old

51 years younger than Bella 

S+=+B+-+51


and 3 years younger than Hayley. 

S+=+H+-+3


Bella is 23 years older than Lily. 


B+=+L+%2B+23

Substitute 34 for L, erase the first equation:

system%28S+=+B+-+51%2C+S+=+H+-+3+%2CB+=+34+%2B+23=57%29

Substitute 57 for B, erase the last equation:

Substitute 6 for S erase the first equation:

How old is Hayley?

Add 6 to both sides:

This problem is not for making and solving equations.


It is a joke Math problem for 2nd or 3rd grade young student to solve it mentally.


The sequence of steps is  Lily --> Bella --> Steve --> Hayley.

Let god saves you from doing this solution job following instructions by @josgarithmetics.

This problem is DESIGNED, INTENDED and EXPECTED to be solved as I instructed in my post
and as tutor @math_tutor2020 did in his post,
but not by any other way through unnecessary telescopic calculations and/or equations.

Also, do not spend your time looking at his table and never spend your time for making such tables.

It is the same as to teach a healthy child to walk using crutches.


For safety of your mind, simply ignore the post by @josgarithmetic.
