Shein's age will be 28-x
Ten years later
Ral's age willbe x+10 years
Shein's age will be (28-x)+10 years= 38-x
ral age will be twice shein age.
x+10 = 2(38-x)
x+10 = 76-2x
3x=66
x=22 Ral's age
Shein's age = 28-22=6 years

Starting with the information that Ral will be twice as old as Shein in 10 years....
x = Shein's age 10 years from now
2x = Ral's age 10 years from now
Their ages now are then
Shein: x-10
Ral: 2x-10
The sum of their current ages is 28:
(x-10)+(2x-10) = 28
3x-20 = 28
3x = 48
x = 48/3 = 16
ANSWERS:
Shein's current age: x-10 = 16-10 = 6
Ral's current age: 2x-10 = 32-10 = 22

This problem is good for mental solution in couple of lines.
Indeed, in 10 years from now, Ral will be twice Shein's age, and the sum of their ages will be 28+10+10 = 48.
If one of the numbers is twice the other number and their sum is 48, then the numbers are 16 and 32:
