You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Bob, b
His mom, 5b
Product of their ages, b%2A5b=400
5b%5E2=400
b%5E2=80
b=sqrt%282%2A2%2A2%2A2%2A5%29
b=4sqrt%285%29------------Is this some of what you are looking for ?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

b = bob's age
4b = his mom's age

b*4b = product of their ages = 4b^2
4b^2 = 400
b^2 = 400/4
b^2 = 100
b = sqrt(100)
b = 10
Bob is 10 years old and his mother is 40

Check:
10*40 = 400
The answers are confirmed.

Such form  ". . . bobs mom is 4 times older than him"  is  NEVER  USED  in  Math problems
in  English,  because it is  AMBIGUOUS.

When it comes to the forum,  it makes it clear that this current  "math composer"
is unfamiliar with the traditional/standard way writing  Math problems in  English.
(never opened relevant Algebra textbook in English).
