            The solution and the answer by @josgarithmetic    are   INCORRECT.

            I came to bring the correct version.

Ayaka, j+12 Joshua, j j + (j+12) = 28+5+5 2j + 12 = 38 j + 6 = 19 j = 19 - 6 = 13. ANSWER. Joshua is 13 years old; Ayaka is 25 years old.

Solved (correctly).
