            @josgarithmetic produced his next incorrect solution (which he does every day, several times per day).

            I came to bring the correct version. 


Mia is  "m".
Kz  is  m+8.


    (m+8)-8 = 3(m-8)


    m = 3m - 24


    24 = 3m - m

    24 = 2m

    m  = 24/2 = 12.


ANSWER.  Mia is 12 years old.  Kz is 20 years old.
