Let x be the Caleb age now.

Then the Wendy's age is (C-6) years.


In 4 years Caleb's age will be  (C+4) years;

           Wendy's age will be ((C-6)+4) = C-2 years.


The problem says

    (C+4) + (C-2) = 64.
