Faulty problem description....

"Bernard is 5 times older than Victor" means Bernard's age is Victor's age, PLUS 5 times Victor's age -- i.e., 6 times Victor's age. Then

x = Peter's age
x+5 = Victor's age (5 years older than Peter)
6(x+5) = Bernard's age

The sum of their ages is 65 years:

x%2B%28x%2B5%29%2B%286%28x%2B5%29%29+=+65
x%2Bx%2B5%2B6x%2B30+=+65
8x+=+30
x+=+3.75

Solutions to age problems have to be whole numbers....

If you want, you can use work similar to that shown above to solve the REAL problem -- in which Bernard is 5 times AS OLD AS Victor, instead of 5 times OLDER.

                    WARNING  (!)  (!)  (!)

If you formulate the problem in this way as you do in this post,  you will  NEVER  know

            a)   NEITHER  if the formulation is correct

            b)   NOR  if the solution/answer is correct

This form  "Bernard is  5  times older than  Victor" does not work in formulations of  Math problems in  English.
